Newsletter T4W2

20 October 2023

From the Principal

Hello everyone,

It is so hard to believe that we are already in Term 4. This year has really raced by. I have to keep my section of the newsletter short this week as I have spent most of it adventuring around Ruapehu National Park with some of our Year 8s.

Mini Hall Window
Many of you will have noticed that we now have a sliding window that allows us to distribute items from the Mini Hall kitchen. The PA have already been putting this to good use this term with Frosty Friday kicking off again. Don’t forget you have the option of sending your children with $2 on a Friday to pick up an ice cream and support our PA’s fundraising efforts, or you can purchase a concession card online at Kindo.

Week Without Walls
Our first ever Week Without Walls took place this week for our Year 8 students. Reports coming in are that our students have enjoyed an incredible time in four different locations – Auckland, Ruapehu, Wellington and Cairns. Huge thanks to the teachers and parents for their support with this.

Enjoy the long weekend!!!!
Paul Crowhurst | Principal

Board Meeting

The next Board meeting will be Tuesday 24 October at 7pm in the Boardroom. Anyone is welcome to attend and a copy of the agenda is available from the school office after 3pm today.

Non-Uniform Day

Thanks for your support for our non-uniform day at the end of term 3. We have been able to pass on $657 to the Sir John Kirwan Foundation as a result of your donations. Year 8 had been inquiring into this foundation, who provide schools with resources and support to enable students to recognise and respond to mental health issues, and nominated this group to receive the donations. Thank you so much.

  • Sandals must be all black. No jandals or crocs.
  • Intermediate students must wear enclosed shoes during food tech lessons.
  • Students must bring in their school hats every day and wear them whenever they are outside, during break times and sports sessions. Students without hats must stay in the boulders area under the shady trees.
